Hmms, last week my church had a holy communion and my good friend, Shuyi asked me what is it about? What is the bread and the red drink so here, I'll explain to her and everybody else who did not know what it is.
Holy communion is a rite that Christians perform in fulfilment of the instruction that Jesus gave to do in his memory of what he did in giving thanks and sharing with his disciples bread and a cup, which he referred to as his body and blood!
Luke 22:19 (New King James Version) 19 And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.”
1 Corinthians 11:24-25 (New King James Version) 24 and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “Take, eat;[a] this is My body which is broken[b] for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” 25 In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.”
